Congressional developments

As many of you know, there was legislation introduced in Congress today that affects payday lending.  As there are no news articles so far to comment on, we’re waiting for electronic links to the legislation as well as feedback from industry officials.

PP – could you please give us a range of possible time frames for such a law to be enacted? Did Durbin re-submit the same law that he proposed last July? With all that is happening in the world today with a possible world recession/depression, and the loss of jobs and businesses, it seems counter-intuitive to see such legislation passed in the midst of this.
These are strange days, indeed.
