Senator Christopher Dodd (D., Conn.), the outgoing head of the Senate Banking Committee, said President Barack Obama shouldn’t wait to nominate the first director of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Dodd, speaking at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association annual meeting Monday, said the bureau could become “a target of opportunity” for critics seeking to undo the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul.
