The Senate Banking Committee begins a series of meetings and Administration officials will be out making speeches.  From the WSJ:

Mr. Dodd plans to begin a set of meetings on Monday over the bill, which will lead to a series of votes on amendments. In total, lawmakers have filed roughly 400 amendments, with roughly 200 of those coming from Republican Sens. Richard Shelby of Alabama and Bob Corker of Tennessee. Many of the amendments could be merged or withdrawn, but the sheer breadth of them suggests lawmakers are in for a contentious debate.

Few if any of the 10 Republicans on the panel are expected to ultimately support the bill in the committee.
