This guy’s running for Senate

Connecticut’s Attorney General Richard  Blumenthal is for the CFPA.  From the article:

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said the U.S. Senate must create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency to prevent recurrence of banking-industry excesses that pushed the economy to the brink of collapse.

————————-

“We need a Consumer Financial Protection Agency as a consumer watchdog and guardian to protect against abuses that led to reckless risk-taking and consumer deception,” Blumenthal said during the call with reporters. Attorneys General Lisa Madigan of Illinois, Richard Cordray of Ohio and Tom Miller of Iowa joined Blumenthal on the call.

Sure, he’s running for Senate so why not give more power to the federal government.
