Is this the last S.C. post?
May 20, 2009 | South Carolina, industry, regulation | Comments (0)The legislature couldn’t reach agreement yesterday. From the story:
It doesn’t look like the there will be any restrictions placed on the payday lending industry in our state this year. Tuesday legislators postponed debate on a bill that would limit the amount of loans and the time between loans. Earlier Senator Wes Hayes said it is do or die time for a measure aimed at stopping payday lenders from ensnaring poor residents in a cycle of debt. The postponement makes it very unlikely that the bill will pass before the session ends on Thursday.
