Gold scams are on the rise.  From the story:

When a woman was approached to buy a gold bar outside an Inland Wal-Mart, she thought she was getting a bargain.

Instead, she ended up with a polished hunk of metal.

Moreno Valley police recently arrested two swap-meet dealers on suspicion of selling jewelry without making sure it wasn’t stolen.

As the value of gold soars, law enforcement agencies are warning residents to beware of gold scams and cracking down on unauthorized jewelry sales.
