Quotes from those who voted to save jobs and preserve credit options

Senator Bill Seitz, before urging rejection to the payday lending ban, stated the bill was “not fair to consumers” and that the “economic impact of this legislation should not underestimated.”

Senator Bob Schuler stated, “I think we are going overboard now.”

Thank you Senator Seitz, Schuler, Mumper and Buehrer for your support on this issue. If only everyone were as wise as you! Thank you for listening to the people of OHIO.

  2. Jen says:

A big thank you to the Senators that voted to save jobs and consumer choices. There are a lot of people who will remember you at election time. As for the ones that voted against saving jobs….we shall all remember you too.

I hope those Senators that voted to pass this ridiculous bill are ready to answer to their constituents— whether they are up for election or not. This bill will touch everyone who lives in Ohio– whether it be thru direct layoffs, vendors, landlords, customers, indirect layoffs, etc.

I know if I get laid off the 1st 2 things I will do– sign up for Unemployment and cancel my kids daycare to save money. So then the day care that was counting on my kids tution has 2 open spots… so maybe a teacher or aide will have to be laid off…. and then b/c they lost their job they cant pay their rent… so then the landlord is out the $$ and we have more Ohioans signing up for State Sponsored programs— welfare, food stamps, housing, Unemp, etc.

Consequently, the cycle of pain felt by the passing of HB 545 will be magnified MANY times over throughout Ohio.
