Ranting and raving
January 2, 2009 | industry | Comments (0)Pete Jackson said this in a Washington State newspaper today:
For starters, during the 2009 legislative session we should identify one or two specific issues which reveal some core values. For me it’s establishing a sensible rate cap and finally reining in the payday-lending industry that preys on military families and the working poor. Think of it as one of those if-they-can’t-do-it-now-they’ll-never-ever-have-the-backbone-to-do-it benchmarks.
Ranters never let facts get in the way. The industry does NOT make loans to military personnel because a federal rate cap on such loans. And the average payday lending customer is not poor as study after study has demonstrated.
