“Truth” and the Cleveland Plain Dealer
June 23, 2008 | Ohio | Comments (0)The Plain Dealer wrote an ugly editorial today about the routine rejection by the Attorney General of the payday lending industry’s initial referendum language. Routine because most ballot initiative or referendum language takes two or three attempts to get approved.
The Plain Dealer accuses the industry of not being “truthful.” This is from a paper that has routinely lied about the payday lending industry, inaccurately describing its customers, the availability of alternatives, and the business model itself.
Fanatics are people who not only think they’re right, but think their opponents aren’t just wrong, but uniquely evil. The Plain Dealer editorial writers fit the definition of “fanatics.”
