County Councilman Joe Hatch is continuing his push for an ordinance to regulate payday lenders in unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County. Following a two-month extension to a county moratorium on new payday lenders, Hatch, a Democrat, will present his proposed ordinance to the rest of the county council today. However, it appears a party line has been drawn in the sand.
